A Life’s Work,
A Living Ecosystem

How decades of faithful practice grew into the community AMOMOS is today.

AMOMOS is built upon decades of sustained artistic practice, art education, and faith seeking understanding.

Wang Xieda began creating, exhibiting, and researching art in the 1980s. Later, together, we devoted ourselves to artistic creation, art education, public art practice, theological reflection on the arts, and cross-cultural exchange — and out of that long journey, the direction of AMOMOS gradually took shape.

AMOMOS did not begin with a single project. Through years of faithful practice it grew, slowly and organically, into a complete artistic ecosystem — where making, teaching, and serving belong together.

02 — Our Foundation

Grounded in Creation, Redeemed in Christ

Creation

We believe that God is the Creator of heaven and earth. Humanity is made in His image, and entrusted to steward, cultivate, and develop the world He created.

Fracture

Art originates in God’s creation — a vital way of responding to that creation and fulfilling the cultural mandate. Yet humanity, culture, art, and the whole created order are corrupted by sin.

Renewal

Only in Christ are people renewed — and art restored as a practice that answers creation. Through art we enter reality, enter brokenness, enter tension; in grace we bear witness to the gospel, point toward the hope of the new creation, and give glory to God.

An Art That Returns to Life

We envision a growing artistic ecosystem in which artistic practice, artistic formation, arts in mission, church equipping, and cultural engagement are connected — each nourishing the others.

We believe art belongs not only to galleries, museums, and professional collectors, but also to families, churches, schools, communities, and cities; not only to professional artists, but to every person made in the image of God.

We long for art to return to the centre of human life — as an essential practice of responding to creation, nurturing life, building relationships, engaging culture, and bearing witness to the gospel.

b. 1968 · Fushun, Liaoning Province, China

1996: Graduated from China Academy of Art Professional Affiliations: Member of China Sculpture Institute Member of the Sculpture Professional Committee of China Arts and Crafts Society Awards: Recipient of the British D&AD Wood Pencil Award Current Status: Currently lives and works in Shanghai and Philadelphia

LIU CHUJUN

b. 1976 · Gansu, China

Graduated from the School of Culture and Art, East China University of Science and Technology in 1996. Former faculty member at the School of Arts, East China Normal University Lives and works in Philadelphia, USA and Shanghai, China. 2012–2016: Balanced academic studies and parenting while actively engaging with broader community networks. 2016–Present: Dedicated to life education, artistic creation, and art education.
